Embutidos Monts occupied three nets of 1,500 m2 in the polygon of the Coromina del Bac that the signature will suit. The garrotxina company, headquartered in Sant Joan les Fonts, has a workforce of 1,000 workers and a total of ten factories
The company Garrotxina Noel Alimentaria, dedicated to the manufacture of meat products, has bought the old Factory of Embutidos Monts located in Sant Joan de les Abadesses. These are three naves located in the polygon of the Coromina del Bac that occupy about 1,500 square meters and that will have to adapt. At these facilities, the firm wants to expand the production capacity of the deli specialty division and boost new lines of business.
The company has a workforce of more than 1,000 workers and a total of ten production plants. The last one that has built and that is finalizing is in Sant Joan les Fonts, after investing 24 million. The firm is also in the process of completing the purchase of a plant in the United States that has already announced. The City Council of San Juan de las Abadesas values very positively the arrival of Noel in the region because “it will reinforce the industrial fabric” and will allow to reopen facilities that were not used.
The old Factory embutidos Monts in Sant Joan de las Abadesas entered in competition of creditors in the year 2012. It is a facilities of about 1,500 square meters that the signature garrotxina must adapt. The facilities will have different rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology to offer maximum food safety in their products. In this new space, Noel will expand the production capacity of the deli specialty division and will drive new lines of business.
The company, founded in 1940 in Olot, is headquartered in San Joan les fonts and specializes in the production and distribution of sausages, cooked and cured ham, fresh meats and prepared dishes for both the national and international markets. In 2015 it invoiced 207 million euros and has more than 1,000 workers and 10 production plants. It is currently in the process of finalizing the new plant built in Sant Joan les Fonts, with an investment of 25 million euros. According to the company said in a statement, the “challenge of the company now is to maintain its commitment to innovation and continue to gain presence both domestically and abroad.” Currently it exports to more than 55 countries.
From the Town Hall of San Joan de les Abadesses has received this news very positively, saying that this is a “commitment to the territory” that will allow “boosting the area” in the economic aspect with the recruitment of staff. They consider that its implementation in the region, in addition, will “reinforce” the business fabric and will “streamline” the city’s economy, not forgetting that it will take advantage of an industrial space that had remained in disuse.
