Alternatives for the reduction of antibiotics in pic sector

The main objective of the idea of an innovative project is to define, design and draft the innovative project entitled “Alternatives for the reduction of antibiotics in pig farms”, which will be implemented more intensively in its second phase.

The objective of the innovative project is to move towards a productive system of pigs with less dependence on antibiotics and thus not lose competitiveness with other European countries that compete with us in the international market and that have already been working in this area for some time.

In this way, the participating companies, as well as all the companies of primary pork producers, are expected to gain competitiveness by better integrating into the agri-food chain and add value to their products (antibiotic-free pork). Likewise, it will be possible to have more knowledge regarding the responsible use of antibiotics in pigs.
