The Association of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia has awarded recognition to projects that have been generated from the technological and industrial environment to contribute to the management against COVID-19. Most of the respirator projects proposed from Catalonia have been recognized, as is the case of GARROTXA.
GARROTXA is a respirator suitable for all phases of intubation that with its electronic control detects and reacts if the patient regains breathing. The initiative arose jointly from NOEL Alimentària and the Anesthesia Service of the Olot Hospital.
For the past five years, the professional associations and associations of Engineers of Catalonia through the Industry 4.0 Commission have been awarding the Industry 4.0 Prize with the aim of recognizing the contribution of companies that, in a pioneering way, are carrying out initiatives. and innovative projects in this field. In this edition, and taking into account the exceptional nature of the moment, it has agreed to transform the Award into a recognition of the initiative, effort and ability to put talent at the service of the community, of all the projects that have been generated since of the technological and industrial environment to contribute to the management against COVID-19. Among them, the GARROTXA project.
