Project approved online for AEI 2023 aid.

The cutting process is a tense process in which work is carried out continuously from slaughter to packaging, and with a large volume of product, where operators must work continuously and at high speed. In addition, companies must guarantee the food safety of the product, and to achieve this it is very important to reduce product handling, to have the lowest risk of cross-contamination and microbiological contamination. Also, energy optimization of production processes is important.

The objective of this project is to study the feasibility of a robotic prototype with the integration of a 3D artificial vision scanner, which allows reducing the placement and positioning times of the studied products at the entrance of the cutting room packaging plant. pig, as well as the workload and physical load required for the line operator. All this added to an increase in efficiency, applying technology and innovation.

Thus, the aim is to automate the process of picking, creating a robotic solution for the application of product gripping and positioning on the conveyor belt, also analyzing the safety and energy efficiency of the prototype. It should be noted that the product collection will be chaotic, that is, the product will enter the line disorganized and with heterogeneity of positions, and this is where the great challenge of the project lies. There is no similar prototype on the market with the technology presented in this project.
