Project description:

The need for the project arose to respond to the urgent demand to optimize energy consumption, especially steam, in the food value chain; essential to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, thus addressing the food industry's critical need to reduce its carbon footprint and move towards more sustainable production.

Thus, the main objective of the SMARTSTEAM project is to map and optimize the use of steam in the food chain to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs, thus contributing to more sustainable and profitable production in the food industry.

The challenge of this project is to thoroughly analyze and understand how steam is used at each stage of the food value chain, identifying areas of optimization that promote greater energy efficiency.
